Back into it

I'm finally done making excuses. Came home from work today, laced up the shoes, puffed on the inhaler, stretched, and went for a run. It wasn't too bad, but I can tell it has been a while. I really need to start taking this seriously if I'm going to shell out $100+ to run the Rock N' Roll Chicago Half.

Still haven't registered. I'm not sure I'll actually be able to make it through the race and don't want to feel like I've wasted my money. I'm also struggling with the completely insane concept of paying $100 to run 13.1 miles! That to me is the mark of a crazy person.....but so is jumping of a brigde, and I did that, so......I was in college, on a trip to the Bahamas......everyone else was doing it....

Anyway...

I am going to register. I am going to follow Hal Higdon's plan. I am going to do it.

  1. My last day of school is June 16. I just made reservations for 5:00 that day to fly to DC and see my daughter. It is an inservice day. Last kid day is the 15th.

  2. Yeah girl! Sign up, it's a lot of money for a half (geez!), but once you have it on your goal list, there's no turning back!

  3. I often have that debate too...I'm paying to run? But the experience of a race isn't something captured in a regular run.

  4. I was more scared for my first half, than I was to bungee jump!!!

I agree with Christina though, I pay for the experience, not necessarily the run. Although, I do have my limits...usually nothing over $75 for running or $125 for a tri.

  7. Oh YAY!!! I was considering the Chicago RnR Half too, but it's like a week before my St Jude run, so I don't think that's the best idea. That is pricey for a half, but like others have said...the experience is worth it!
